# Omnia vs CrewAI

> Omnia releases each version of the crew as a versioned pack through a test gate and a stepped rollout, and its budgets stop the spend. CrewAI’s docs don’t cover releasing a new version, and its cost limits send an email.

## Write the crew in CrewAI, and Omnia gives every change to it a version you can test and roll back.

Omnia gives the crew a release process: a versioned pack, a test gate, a stepped rollout and a budget that stops the run. CrewAI runs in your cluster and exports OpenTelemetry, but its docs don’t cover how a new version is released, and its cost limits send an email.

## When it matters: Someone merges a prompt tweak to main.

**On Omnia:** Git sync picks up the merge as a new version of the pack, and simulated users try it through the real tools before it serves anyone. If it passes it gets part of the traffic, and the version that was running serves the rest. (Omnia docs: https://omnia.altairalabs.ai/reference/core/promptpacksource/)

**On CrewAI:** An update pulls the latest code from your repository and rebuilds the deployment. Versioning, rollback and an eval gate aren’t documented. (source: https://docs-platform.crewai.com/platform/en/guides/update-crew.md)

## A release you can name and reverse

Prompts, tools, policy and tests are one versioned pack, so a release has a name you can point at. A bad version rolls back to the one before it. (Omnia docs: https://omnia.altairalabs.ai/reference/core/promptpacksource/)

CrewAI: Redeploys rebuild from the latest commit. (source: https://docs-platform.crewai.com/platform/en/guides/update-crew.md)

## Multi-turn simulated users

The simulated users hold whole conversations through the real tools, some of them adversarial and some by voice. They run on whichever model provider you use. (Omnia docs: https://promptarena.altairalabs.ai/arena/explanation/scenario-design/)

CrewAI: crewai test scores each task from 1 to 10 over a number of iterations, with OpenAI as the only scoring provider for now. (source: https://docs.crewai.com/en/concepts/testing)

## A budget that stops things

Daily and monthly budgets per agent, provider or workspace, with an action when they’re exceeded. (Omnia docs: https://www.altairalabs.ai/scale)

CrewAI: Cost Limit policies never pause, throttle or stop a run; they send an email. (source: https://docs-platform.crewai.com/platform/en/features/agent-control-plane/policies.md)

## Questions

**Can Omnia run a CrewAI crew?**

Omnia runs agents from other frameworks under its own policy, audit and testing, and its scenarios run against any endpoint you can reach.

**How is each priced?**

CrewAI’s free tier includes 50 workflow executions a month and Enterprise is priced on request. Omnia is free while you build, the core is free in production, and the enterprise licence is one price per environment per year from £30,000.
